Injury Report

I just smashed the tips of my fingers in the garage door.  It hurt so bad that I puked in the driveway.

Injury Report

I may have to start wearing steel-toed shoes around the house.  It seems like most of my injuries these days involve me stubbing a toe or dropping something on my foot.  This time a can of biscuits rolled off the kitchen counter and landed on my big toe, splitting it open.

I guess this qualifies as an injury.  I stumbled across a nest of yellow jackets while doing some yard work.  Only one of the little bastards stung me, but he got me right on the ear.  Now my left ear is beet red and swollen to twice its size.

Once again, I’ve managed to fall down the stairs.  These stairs are  death trap.  This time I fell backwards catching my lower back and both elbows on the edge of a step.  Then I slid about half way down the stairs, scraping my arms up in the process.  I actually landed on the step so hard that I moved it.  In the photo below you can see the outline of where the step used to be.

I spent the rest of the day with an ice pack on my left elbow to keep the swelling down.

This also gives me the opportunity to point out the widget I made over in the right column.  It keeps a running tally of days since my last injury.

Injury Report

I was carrying a 12-pack of Pepsi by the built-in handle, when the box ripped open and a cascade of 12-ounce cans rained down upon my bare foot. One can landed on my index toe, busting it open and splitting the nail down the center. For such a small laceration, I lost a surprising amount of blood. I believe I have a solid case against the Pepsi corporation.

New Injury

I stabbed myself in the hand, in that web-like area between the thumb and index finger, with a flathead screwdriver.

New Injury

While swinging a 3-pound sledgehammer to loosen some wooden stakes that were stuck in the ground, I completely missed the stake I was aiming for and struck my bare ankle. It hurt like hell for a few minutes, but everything is fine now, minus some bruising and swelling.
